Having the ability and the knowledge to fly in controlled airspace is a must for the professional pilot. "I take pride in holding an FAA certification and refer to myself as a Professional UAV/Drone Pilot, after taking the course and passing the FAA 107 knowledge test. I understand air traffic control, flight restrictions, military flight restrictions, flight paths, obtaining special permissions to fly in controlled airspace, sectionals charts, NOAA weather information, transponder monitoring/communications, classification of airports, FAA safety requirements and what is expected of me as a pilot to ensure a safe flight every flight. I would recommend that every UAV pilot, hobbyist or professional, take a course and pass the FAA 107 knowledge test. It will simply make you a better pilot, not just another quadcopter operator creating a potential safety hazard due to lack of airspace knowledge and FAA safety standards. Preflight and Mission Planning
We communicate directly with air traffic control of the site area as required by the FAA. Every mission is operated within the rules and regulations stipulated by the FAA and governing bodies applicable to all UAV Drones and Flight Controllers at all times. Air traffic and air safety is of the utmost importance. Our training and safety precautions ensure a safe and successful mission. At any time that weather jeopardizes a safe flight we simply postpone the mission for a later time or another day.

We have spent hundreds of hours researching and identifying potential safety hazards and issues in real time and in the classroom. We prefer a safety checklist as any manned aircraft pilot would use prior to any flight or mission. Our goal is to meet and exceed the safety requirements set forth by the FAA and have passed the 107 knowledge test and currently hold FAA certification to operate small unmanned aerial vehicles as a 107 Commercial Drone Pilot. We inspect our drones prior to each flight to achieve drone safety and reliability in a professional setting.
As strong proponents of drone safety, Pleasant Hill Drone Service carefully and responsibly follows rules provided by the FAA, Academy of Model Aeronautics, AUVSI and Small UAV Coalition.
We Are FAA Certified
IMPORTANT NOTICE: The FAA’s final rule for small, unmanned aircraft went into effect on August 29, 2016. It provides specific safety regulations for commercial and non-recreational use of unmanned aircraft weighing less than 55 pounds. That means UAS users who want to fly for commercial use (such as providing aerial surveying or photography services) or fly incidental to a business (such as performing roof inspections or real estate photography) must follow regulations according to the FAA Part 107 for commercial drone pilots.
We Are OSHA Certified
KC Drone Works is committed to safety in the work place and is OSHA 10 compliant. OSHA sets the rules and it is up to each employer to “certify” that their staff is in compliance with applicable OSHA regulations. A certificate is issued to verify that the correct standards have been met for workers and employers on the recognition, avoidance, abatement, and prevention of safety and health hazards in workplaces.
Insured
We carry a $1,000,000 liability insurance policy and $1,000,000 GL policy for all flight missions. COI, proposal, mission planning available prior to mission up to $10,000,000 coverage.
When necessary we can provide on a per mission basis $10,000,000 of drone liability insurance. Standard missions include $1,000,000 in coverage.
